When we went out on Saturday morning, it was cold, but clear. We got home mid-morning, and I proceeded to stay indoors for the rest of the day. Jeremy went out for a bit in the afternoon, but was back by 3:30, when we settled in to catch up on a couple of TV shows (Sherlock and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), and then watch some of our ridiculous teen drama TV (The Vampire Diaries–still on season 4). So I was a little surprised to log on to Facebook at about 9:30 or so and find out through posts there that it had snowed!
Snow in Seattle rarely lasts long, and this was only an inch or two. But it was enough that it made the prospect of getting the car out of the garage daunting. See, our garage is underneath our apartment building, which means there’s a slope up and out onto the parking lot. And with no one else wanting to take their car out, that meant that the lot stays snowy until it melts.
Luckily, I was able to catch a bus and get to the store to pick up the groceries we needed, and the laundry room in our building was good enough to run the loads that were the most important, so we weren’t too impacted by the surprise snow. And it was mostly gone by Sunday night, and all gone by Monday morning. And I’m hoping that’s the last of the winter here, because I’m really ready to be warm again!
